The Production Process

Like a fine wine or a gourmet meal, there’s a lot that goes on in the background before the final product is placed in front of you.

What goes into the production of our magazines?

It starts off with being clear on our ethos that we want to communicate.Take restaurants, for instance. While there are those outlets that try to cater for anyone, someone with the more discerning palate wouldn’t go to a steak house and order pizza, nor would they expect a T-bone at an Italian pizzeria.

When you open the menu, you expect to see what is printed on the cover – and you certainly expect to receive what you’ve ordered!

With our readers firmly in mind, this is what we strive to do with our Personal Finance and Tax Breaks publications.

Personal Finance provides wealth strategies for investors and financial professionals – these include tips on how to save, manage, and invest your hard-earned money.

Tax Breaks provides tax tips for individuals, companies, and tax professionals – enabling you to not only be compliant, but also to plan your tax affairs so that you get to keep more of what is rightfully yours.

The titles clearly indicate what you can expect, and that is what you will get. Our magazines carry solid, sound, well-researched articles aimed at helping our readers to build, protect, preserve, and enjoy their wealth.

Of course, a good meal cannot be created without the right ingredients, carefully selected and lovingly prepared in order to provide the best dining experience possible.

A good chef needs a network of suppliers from whom quality ingredients can be sourced. Our magazines are exactly the same, and we source our ‘ingredients’ from experts out in the field – people who actually manage funds, invest money, plan people’s finances, complete tax returns, and (where necessary) go into the trenches to fight for their clients.

In other words, real people with real knowledge obtained not only through formal education but also from the school of hard knocks (i.e. real-life experience) – paying the school fees so that our readers can learn from others’ mistakes and apply the wisdom that has been gained from these experiences.

Finally, the chef is the one who brings it all together, presenting the diner with a meal that is certainly worth paying for. A meal that is visually pleasing with the right textures and aromas, but most importantly, pleasant to eat. No frills, no fuss – just good all-round value. We feel the same way about our magazines – that’s why our magazines carry solid, sound, well-researched articles aimed at helping our readers to build, protect, preserve, and enjoy their wealth.

In between, there is a whole lot of preparation that goes on in the background – sorting out the topics, deciding what to include, making sure that the fundamentals are right (layout, grammar and spelling, checking facts etc, and setting out the menu so that our readers can easily find specific articles, then finally scaling and polishing the magazine files for electronic distribution – all so that you can enjoy the final product when it arrives each month.

Of course, no chef can claim to be a mind-reader, and nor can any magazine editor. That’s why we value feedback from our readers – so if there’s any topic relating to personal finance and tax that you would like to see featured, or any questions you may have, drop us a line. Ultimately, it’s your money, so anything we can do to help you manage it better will also be of value to all of our subscribers.
