The income statement—a key to financial performance
THE INCOME statement, also known as the Statement of Comprehensive Income or the profit and loss account (P&L), is one of the most important financial reports used by businesses, investors, and analysts.
It provides a snapshot of a company’s financial performance over a specific period—monthly, quarterly, or annually—and shows whether the business is generating a profit or incurring a loss.

SARS’ ‘toll fee’ on the road to home ownership
SARS’ ‘toll fee’ on the road to home ownership
Of all the costs involved in purchasing a home, transfer duty is one of the largest
BUYING A property in South Africa involves more than just the purchase price.
One of the additional costs that many buyers need to budget for is transfer duty, a tax levied by SARS. Understanding how this tax works is essential for anyone entering the property market—whether you are a first-time buyer, an investor, or simply moving to a new home.
This is an ideal opportunity to highlight the financial challenges that many women face in midlife, and to encourage open, empowering conversations about money.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies (DCP ZA)
Dis-Chem Pharmacies (DCP ZA)
Dis-Chem is one of the leading pharmaceutical and consumer wellness groups in South Africa. The company takes a ‘Pharmacy First’ approach with the main aim of serving the primary pharmaceutical needs of individuals. The group also utilises its wholesale business to service third parties and Dis-Chem retail pharmacies through its CJ distribution business.
Technically, the price is in a developing symmetrical triangle pattern, which makes the share an interesting candidate for a long position (see black converging trend-lines on the main chart). Furthermore, the price distribution chart for DCP supports a bullish case given that the current price of R32.60 is situated within one of the most heavily-traded and high-frequency zones over the last five years.

Redefine Properties (RDF ZA)
Unless you are a brilliant liar or have an eidetic memory, SARS will get you sooner or later
Redefine Properties is a leading South African Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Their diversified portfolio includes directly held and managed retail, office, industrial and specialised real estate assets across South Africa, complemented by a strong presence in retail and logistics property assets in Poland.
Technically, a price in a developing triangle pattern makes the share an interesting candidate for a long position (see the black converging trendlines on the main chart). This pattern often indicates a period of consolidation before a potential breakout. Investors can view the formation as a base for accumulation, with a breakout supporting the bullish stance.
